On December 17, 2020, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Science and Technology, there was a seminar on the comprehensive digital transformation of infrastructure in the 4.0 era. Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Van Tung chaired the meeting.

The discussion aimed to promote cooperation in technology transfer, application, and development, enhance efficiency, and orientate scientific and technological development towards the crucial role of digital transformation. Participants included units within and outside the Ministry, notably the leadership and staff of PORTCOAST, a design consultancy company specializing in maritime and port-related fields in Vietnam. The company has successfully applied digital conversion in implementing projects in these fields.

At the discussion, Mr. Tran Tan Phuc - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company introduced and demonstrated the technology of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and scan to BIM in specific projects such as the Hyosung LPG Port in Ba Ria - Vung Tau and the digitalization of equipment and technology in the Ho Chi Minh City Theater. Additionally, PORTCOAST also demonstrated the experimental headquarters of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Mr. Tran Tan Phuc also expressed his willingness to support and promote cooperation with the Ministry of Construction and Socio-Economic Development.

At the end of the working session, Deputy Minister Tran Van Tung instructed the Department of Application and Technology Development to take the lead in coordinating closely with other units within the Ministry and promoting cooperation with PORTCOAST in the coming time.
